Hola!

My latest work being a collection of self portraits telling my experience and expressing nostalgia after leaving home and experiencing the loneliness of being apart from my culture, home and family, turning every emotion into a new chapter of a story told through paintings.

 

My paintings have become a reflection of the pages of my dairies, which I have filled with the ups and downs of being far away from home and the unexpected of starting over in a new place. It has become a way to, not only express how I feel, but more so understand my emotions and use them as a mirror where I try to find meaning to the images that I put on the canvas, trying to explain and interpret my own work and come to conclusions that I think would only be possible after painting it first.

 

And through my work I also attempt to create a connection with anyone else who might relate, to feel a little less lonely while navigating nostalgia.
